We’re seeking a Shop Educator/Assistant Manager — a leadership role designed for individuals who are equally passionate about technical excellence, team development, and client satisfaction. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the stylist experience, influence shop performance, and help shape the future of Drybar Arizona.

The Shop Educator/Assistant Manger serves as a key partner to shop leadership by enhancing stylist training, promoting service excellence, supporting team engagement and driving sales. This role splits time between providing exceptional blowout services and supporting the shop team through hands-on education and coaching. The Shop Educator/Assistant Manager plays an essential role in increasing retention, developing  talent, and fostering a high-performance, team-centered culture.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Stylist Education & Technical Development

  • Lead onboarding and technical training for new hires (blowouts, dry styles, add-ons).
  • Facilitate skill-building sessions for continuing education.
  • Track progress, provide constructive feedback, and certify key milestones.
  • Ensure all education aligns with Drybar standards, policies, and operational practices.

Mentorship & Performance Coaching

  • Observe services to assess technique, consistency, and client satisfaction.
  • Deliver in-the-moment coaching and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with shop leadership to address development areas and performance concerns.
  • Support stylists in achieving service and sales-related KPIs.

Recruitment & Onboarding Support

  • Assist with candidate interviews, resume review, and technical assessments.
  • Promote team culture throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
  • Support smooth integration of new hires into the team environment.

Engagement & Retention

  • Conduct stay interviews and check-ins to support retention efforts.
  • Promote accountability, development, and open communication within the team.
  • Support leadership in addressing team challenges in a professional and timely manner.

Leadership & Operational Impact

  • Perform services at a high level to serve as a model for brand consistency.
  • Meet and exceed individual sales goals.
  • Contribute to operational initiatives that drive sales, service quality, and efficiency to meet and exceed goals.
  • Assist in resolving client escalations professionally and in alignment with brand standards.
  • Fill in at the front desk as needed based on business and staffing needs.
  • Participate in the development of shop-specific goals and action plans.

Qualifications

  • Valid cosmetology or esthetics license (Arizona).
  • Ability to work Tuesday-Saturday with occasional Sundays and Mondays. Hours will vary based on business.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and train other professionals.
  • Experience delivering technical education in a salon or similar setting preferred.
  • Experience in sales/retail preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and organizational ability.
